Dr. William Nicola – HBSc, DDS, MSc (Pediatric), FRCD(C)
Dr. William Nicola was born and raised in Ottawa, where he also completed an honours degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2012. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 2017. Following his graduation, he completed a residency at the Sickkids Hospital, with a focus on providing comprehensive and emergency dental care for the pediatric population, including those with special health care needs. This solidified his interest in providing dental care for children, leading him to further specialize by completing his Masters in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Toronto. Dr. Nicola’s love for working with children stemmed from his early years as a lifeguard and swim instructor, whereby he thoroughly enjoyed teaching kids of all ages. This passion for working with children has further developed throughout his dental career. Often times, kids dread going to see their dentist, which can have a long-term negative impact on their health. For this reason, his priority is to make sure that every child has a positive experience at the dentist and leaves with a smile on their face! Dr. Nicola is an active member of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, the Ontario Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Canadian and American Academies of Pediatric Dentistry. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Nicola enjoys spending time with his family and Bernese Mountain dog, Lola. In their free time, they enjoy playing soccer, swimming, eating, travelling the world, and, of course, taking Lola to the dog park. Dr. Nicola is very excited to be back in his hometown and looks forward to giving back to his community. |
